When recording to DNxHD, each audio channel will be recorded in a separate MXF

file.

Creating folders with the VENICE RUI

With the VENICE RUI folders can be created directly on the VENICE server. To

protect the storage from an accidental deletion of content, the VENICE RUI

supports the creation folders only. Deleting, renaming or moving folders and files is

prohibited and can only be performed directly on the VENICE server itself or with a

full Spycer version installed on the same client where the VENICE RUI is running.

Further information about recording

VENICE provides a counter for file names to ensure that no file will be overwritten.

After finishing a record with a certain clip name and directly starting a new record

with the same clip name the VENICE RUI will automatically increase the file name

counter by one and add this number to the file name.

During crash recording it is also possible to record multiple takes in a single file.

This can be done with the Record/Pause button

. However, this

feature is only available for the crash record mode.

After finishing a record the last captured clip will be automatically loaded in the play-

out mode. To review the last record just switch from the ingest mode to the play-out

mode.

Tips

On the VENICE server Spycer version 1.4.4.11 or higher must be installed.

Please make sure that the local

drives of the VENICE server are

set as watch folders in Spycer.

The function „Resize to default“ will reset the VENICE RUI to its default size. You

can find this feature on the context menu of the video-overlay (right-click on the

video overlay) or on the menu “Options”.

After finishing a job with the VENICE RUI the allocated channel should always be

deselected to free it for other users in the network.
